Gerald has an enviable technical background - with a first class honours masters degree in Microelectronics & Software Engineering from Newcastle University and over 20 years ICT experience at companies including IBM and The Technology Partnership.
His key strength is his appreciation that technology, no matter how powerful it might be, is simply the means of delivering a solution and that achieving real benefits is the aim of any development. He applied this as Technical Director of a national software development company & Head of Operations of a Cambridge based new media company in the early days of the internet. He continues to apply it through his interest and expertise in the field of Search Engine Optimisation.
Gerald feels passionately about cutting through terminology and technology issues and communicating in understandable terms, applying this to his everyday work developing bespoke programmed web solutions and delivering SEO advice to businesses ranging from start-up to nationals.
Gerald leads training courses on the subject of Search Engine Optimisation on behalf of Business Link and the East of England Development Agency .
